Project Overview

Explanation
Kamikochi is a renowned scenic spot with beautiful natural landscapes representing Japan, and it possesses a precious ecosystem.

However, the temporary roads and embankments constructed for the maintenance of mountain huts and toilets, as well as for the emergency transport, have narrowed the river channels, thereby damaging the natural environment and landscape.

This project aims to achieve both the’conservation’ and ‘safe utilisation’ of the natural environment. It will undertake construction works that minimize impact, taking the landscape at the time of cultural property designation as the ideal.
